Furnitureland South is seeking a skilled Deli Cook to join our kitchen team in Jamestown, NC. This part-time role focuses on preparing high-quality deli items, maintaining a clean workstation, and delivering efficient customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates have proven deli or line cook experience, strong food safety knowledge, and the ability to operate slicers, ovens, and other deli equipment safely. Certification is a plus and multitasking is essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a deli cook, line cook, or similar culinary role.
• Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, portion control, and presentation.
• Ability to operate deli equipment (slicers, ovens, induction burners, mixer) safely.
• Excellent time management and multitasking skills.
• Food handler’s certification or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook deli menu items, including sandwiches, salads, soups, and specialty dishes.

Job purpose

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Deli Cook to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will prepare high-quality dishes according to our recipes, maintain a clean and organized workstation, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Functions and responsibilities

• Prepare and cook deli menu items, including sandwiches, salads, soups, and specialty dishes.
• Slice, portion, and arrange meats, cheeses, and other ingredients with precision.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitation of the deli and kitchen areas.
• Minimize food waste
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and company standards.
• Provide friendly, efficient service to customers and assist with special catering orders.

Working conditions

• Position requires bending, standing, and walking during shift.
• Comfortable working in hot and busy kitchen conditions.
• Comfortable with walk – in cooler and freezer
• Comfortable with the handling of Sharp Knives and other commercial kitchen equipment

Physical requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Capability to lift up to 50 lbs.
