Job summary

GOODWILL OF CENTRAL FLORIDA is seeking a Textile Sorter to process and sort donated textiles, maintain a clean and safe production area, and support back stock management. The role emphasizes quality sorting based on brand and material, with attention to workplace appearance and safety standards.

Applicants should have experience in retail/stock handling and be comfortable standing for long periods. Training and adherence to company principles are important aspects of the role.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of retail and/or stock handling.
  • Ability to react calmly to emergencies.
  • Ability to listen and follow directions.
  • Ability to stand for long periods.
  • Knowledge of linen brands and varieties.
  • Math ability: add/subtract two-digit numbers and multiply/divide by 10s and 100s; handle monetary values.

Responsibilities

  • Sort donated textile and place non-sellable items into outlet containers.
  • Sort donated textile and place non-seasonal back stock items in back stock boxes.
  • Keep production area clean, neat, and safe.
  • Maintain well-groomed appearance and dress code including name badge.
  • Attend in-service and related training as assigned by Team Leader or Production Leader.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Team Leader or Production Leader.
