Job summary

Alsco Uniforms in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Counter-Sorter to handle, count, sort and record incoming soiled textiles from customers. You will identify damaged textiles and report to the Production Manager.

This non-exempt position requires physical tasks—standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds—within an industrial laundry setting. Benefits include 401(k) with company match, medical/dental/vision, life and disability insurance, and EAP.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform physical tasks including standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds for the full shift.
• Able to work in an industrial laundry environment with exposure to temperature variations, humidity, odors, lint and dust.
• Able to work in a team environment and support production flow.
• Willing to comply with PPE policies and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Open bags of soiled textiles and sort by type, size and color.
• Count textiles manually or electronically and transfer into sorting systems.
• Identify damaged or abused textiles and record into sorting systems.
• Follow efficiency and safety standards for the position.
• Follow policies related to wearing assigned PPE.
• Collaborate effectively in a team environment.
