Job summary

Valdese Weavers, a 100% employee-owned ESOP textile mill in Valdese, NC, seeks a Fabric Sampler Cutter for first shift. You will measure, mark and cut fabric for samples following ISO 9001 instructions and safety rules, using electric scissors and cutters.

Duties include preparing colorlines for shipping and supporting header sewing, with overtime as needed. Requirements include good communication, basic math, and the ability to work closely with others in a production environment.

Qualifications

• Good communication with others and team-friendly.
• Basic reading, writing and math skills.
• Attention to detail in fabric handling.

Responsibilities

• Roll out fabric to measure, mark and cut requested size on pattern sheet.
• Check to make sure the sample is woven correctly.
• Check if the sample is railroaded or not and cut accordingly.
• Cut samples on a pinking machine based on specifications.
• Help pull colorlines for shipping.
• Help sew headers on colorlines.
• Work scheduled overtime.
• Follow safety guidelines and 5S standards.
