Job summary

Barnes & Noble College is seeking a Department Manager for the Textbook department. You will assist customers with locating course materials for rental or purchase, support daily store operations, and help drive adoptions and digital sales while ensuring excellent customer service.

You will supervise in a fast-paced campus bookstore environment, maintain inventory accuracy, train team members, and engage with students, faculty, and staff to deliver an outstanding shopping experience.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in retail management or buying preferred.
• Outstanding customer service skills.
• Basic reading, writing and accounting skills required.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Support store operations and departments with standard processes.
• Assist customers in locating textbooks and other materials.
• Promote adoptions, rentals, and digital sales when possible.
• Maintain an appealing and organized sales floor.
• Process sales transactions and support inventory control.
