City of Austin seeks a Regulatory Analyst to research, analyze, and interpret Texas electric utility regulation trends. You will evaluate impacts on rate design, filings, and the activities of regulated entities, and support legislative strategies and policy development.

The role coordinates with Austin Energy and Texas stakeholders on ERCOT market issues, prepares analyses, and may travel to meet with partners.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in business, Economics, Public Affairs, or any utility regulatory process development field, plus three (3) years of related work experience.
• Master’s degree may substitute for experience up to two (2) years.

Responsabilidades

• Research regulatory related issues, analyzes strategic alternatives, and recommends strategic policy.
• Coordinate and assist with legislative strategies and regulatory activities and serve as coordinator across Austin Energy and the broader Texas stakeholder community for ERCOT market and regulatory policy issues.
• Align legislation and regulations with Austin Energy’s strategic plans and policies related to regulation of the utility industry in Texas.
• Monitor regulatory processes and participate in rulemakings, proceedings, and workshops as needed.
• Prepare economic and statistical analyses and support expert witnesses in contested cases.
