Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years of legislative and executive advocacy experience with state governments.
• Direct experience with executive branch offices or lobbying for pharma companies.
• Proven background as lobbyist or contract counsel before state bodies.
• Deep knowledge of state legislative processes and Medicaid policy dynamics.
• Strong strategic agility and ability to align cross-functional stakeholders.
• Excellent written and oral policy communication; translate complex policy for diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Advocate and lobby on Genentech's behalf with state branches by drafting policy solutions and testifying at hearings.
• Develop and sustain strategic relationships with elected officials, agency leadership, and industry partners.
• Register as a state lobbyist, manage contract lobbyists, and ensure compliance with laws.
• Advise CE ecosystem leaders to align government affairs with regional business priorities.
• Monitor Medicaid policy developments and state legislation in collaboration with policy teams.
• Act as a catalyst by using regional insights to shape advocacy plans.
• Mentor and coach SLGA and PAA teams to foster growth and impact.
