Job summary

Lockhart Smokehouse in Arlington, TX, is seeking a Cook to prepare and cook orders for daily operations in a timely manner, while maintaining sanitation and following recipes. You will work with a team to ensure quality, consistency, and efficient service in a fast-paced kitchen.

The role requires at least 1 year of experience on a fast-paced line, basic cooking knowledge, and strong communication. Night/weekend shifts and lifting up to 75 pounds are possible in this position.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year experience cooking on a fast-paced kitchen line.
• Basic knowledge of cooking, following recipes, portions, and presentation.
• Good communication with cooks, wait staff and supervisors.
• Reading and writing abilities used for recipes, inventory, and scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook orders for daily operations in a timely manner.
• Control food usage to minimize waste.
• Advise supervisor on low inventory items and assist in receiving and inventory.
• Restock items during shifts.
• Maintain sanitation and cleanliness per Health Board and company standards.
• Keep work area clean and organized; operate reach-ins and walk-ins.
• Report unsafe or malfunctioning equipment.
• May assist with ware washing and other kitchen duties.
• Interact with guests occasionally to ensure quality service.
