Job summary

Mission Critical Group is seeking a Test Manager to lead the testing department responsible for validating custom electrical equipment before it ships to customers. This role ensures products meet rigorous safety and quality standards while maintaining efficient throughput in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The Testing Manager directly oversees a team of testing technicians, develops testing procedures, and serves as the technical authority on testing across three product centers,

Qualifications

• 10+ years in a manufacturing environment (electrical equipment or custom assembly).
• 3+ years of supervisory/management experience leading technical teams.
• Hands-on experience with electrical testing procedures and equipment.
• Knowledge of MV/LV switchgear, control panels, PCD, and crimp plate buildings.
• Familiarity with UL 891, UL 1558, DLAH requirements and related standards.
• Understanding of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and test documentation.
• Safety protocols for energized equipment and strong leadership abilities.
• Proficient with standard manufacturing software and documentation systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop the testing technicians team.
• Set performance expectations, conduct reviews, and support growth.
• Foster a culture of safety, quality, and accountability in the department.
• Coordinate staffing to meet production demands and schedules.
• Oversee all testing activities for custom electrical assemblies (switchgear, control panels).
• Develop, document, and standardize testing procedures across facilities.
• Ensure products pass functionality, safety, and compliance testing before shipment.
• Troubleshoot testing failures with engineering and production teams.
• Maintain testing equipment and calibration.
• Ensure testing processes comply with applicable standards and prepare for third-party inspections.
