Job summary

Apexon Technology is hiring a Tester / QA Analyst in Olympia, WA to ensure quality across functional, automation, API, and database testing. You will design test plans, develop automated scripts, and integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in software quality assurance, strong knowledge of QA methodologies, SDLC, and testing best practices. Onsite role with collaboration across engineering, product, and operations teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance with a focus on functional, automation, and API testing.
• Hands-on experience with Katalon.
• Postman for RESTful APIs, Web Services, and Microservices testing.
• Test case development and execution.
• Defect identification, reporting, and tracking.
• Test documentation and reporting.
• Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, or similar test automation tools.
• SoapUI or similar API testing tools.
• Strong understanding of SDLC and QA methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, document, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for functional testing.
• Identify, document, and track software defects and inconsistencies.
• Collaborate with developers and product managers to understand requirements and provide feedback on design and implementation.
• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using industry-standard tools and frameworks.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing.
• Analyze test results, identify issues, and work with development teams to resolve defects.
• Create and execute API test plans and test cases to validate API functionality, performance, and security.
• Use tools such as Postman, SoapUI, or similar tools to perform API testing.
• Ensure comprehensive coverage of API endpoints and maintain API test documentation.
• Perform manual and automated testing to validate the integration of software components and systems.
• Participate in code reviews and provide feedback from a testing perspective.
• Ensure compliance with QA standards and best practices.
• Continuously improve testing processes and methodologies to enhance software quality.
• Work closely with development, product management, and operations teams.
• Communicate testing progress, issues, and results to team members and stakeholders.
• Mentor and guide junior QA engineers as needed.

Role Overview

We are seeking highly skilled QA Engineers with strong experience in functional, automation, API, and database testing. The role is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of software products through comprehensive testing, defect identification, test automation, and collaboration with development and product teams.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of software quality assurance experience with a strong understanding of QA methodologies, SDLC, and testing best practices.
