Job summary

Belcan is seeking a Dev/Research Engineer (Test Validation Engineer) to support hydraulic components in a lab setting. The role involves scoping test requirements, creating schematics, setting up experiments, collecting data, and validating results to drive conclusions.

Ideal candidates will have BS or MS in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics with relevant experience and proficiency in Excel, MATLAB, and Power BI for data analysis and reporting.

• Strong technical writing for reports and conclusions.
• Background in hydraulic components or related testing/validation.

Responsibilities

• Perform hydraulic component/subsystem testing and validation in a lab environment.

• Conduct teardown and failure analysis after testing.
• Prepare technical conclusions/reports using Excel, MATLAB, Power BI, and in-house tools.

Duration: 12 Months Contract

Pay Rate: $ 40.00/hr on W2

Start Date: Immediate

Job Description:

Role Overview:

Test & Validation Engineer supporting a lab environment focused on hydraulic components and subsystems. The role involves scoping test requirements, creating schematics/simple component prints, setting up tests, collecting/analyzing data, and documenting final conclusions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform hydraulic component/subsystem testing and validation in a lab environment.
• Work with technicians, electricians, engineers, and lab personnel to set up and execute tests.
• Test valves, pumps, and cylinders, including performance, fatigue, and endurance testing.
• Conduct teardown and failure analysis after testing.
• Perform data analysis and prepare technical conclusions/reports using Excel, MATLAB, Power BI, and Client's in-house tools.

Top Skills:

• Data analysis and technical writing.

Preferred Experience:

• Hydraulics experience is highly preferred, but strong mechanical candidates from other testing/validation backgrounds can be considered.
• Preferred domains: Automotive, Aerospace, Medical Equipment, Mobile Applications, and Industrial Manufacturing.
• Industrial/mobile hydraulic experience involving oil/fluid systems is relevant.
• Water hydraulics and Civil Engineering backgrounds are not relevant.
• Years of experience: BS with 5-7 years or Masters with 3 years (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics or similar)

Note: Data analysis is required, but it is not the core objective of the role. The primary duty of the role is test scoping, schematic/setup, hands-on testing, data collection, validation, and failure analysis.

Interview Process: 2 rounds – Virtual and Panel Interview.
