Vertiv Corporation in Pelzer, SC is seeking an Integrated Solutions Test Technician to support development of our Integrated Solutions product lines. You will join a team focused on quality, safety, and reliable electrical testing up to 480V.

You will perform transformer, ATS, generator, power meter, and circuit breaker tests; document results; read electrical standards; and travel to customer sites as needed.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Electronics, or related field preferred.
  • 1-2 years experience in electrical industry, troubleshooting, and commissioning/final handover of switchgear systems.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a positive, productive attitude toward reliability, accountability, safety, integrity, quality, and productivity.
  • Perform testing and maintenance of electrical systems up to 480V.
  • Conduct transformer, ATS, generator, power meter, and circuit breaker testing.
  • Perform troubleshooting, relay calibration, and use load/power quality instruments for MV breakers.
  • Test and troubleshoot complex electrical systems and power metering.
  • Write detailed reports and record test results at project end.

Job Description Integrated Solution Test Technician

Vertiv is currently looking to bring a driven Test Technician onto our team to assist in the development of our Integrated Solutions product lines. We are looking for an individual who is detail-oriented leader and technically proficient. We are building a motivated team of technicians who will produce a quality product for some of the most prestigious clients in the world.

Essential Job Functions
  • Maintain positive, progressive, and productive attitude toward plant targets and objectives regarding reliability, accountability, safety, integrity, quality, and productivity as a unified goal.
  • Perform all aspects of testing and maintenance of electrical systems up to 480v.
  • Perform instrument transformer tests, power transformer testing, automatic transfer switch troubleshooting, generator testing, power meter testing, and circuit breaker testing.
  • Troubleshooting capabilities, relay calibration, use of load and power quality recording instrumentation, medium voltage breaker and testing.
  • Testing and troubleshooting complex electrical systems, moderately complex relay systems and power metering.
  • Write complete, detailed reports promptly at end of project using a computer, and recording of test results for detailed completion of test booklets.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical standards.
  • Take an active role in business development and expansion.
  • Complete extensive on-the-job and classroom trainings related to testing complex electrical systems safely and effectively.
  • Montior and maintain assigned tools and equipment and follow all safety protocols.
  • May be required to travel to customer locations.
Required Knowledge, Experience, Skills, and Abilities
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Currently pursuing or completed Associates Degree in an applicable field (Electrical Engineering, Industrial Electronics, etc.) preferred.
  • 1-2 years experience successfully working in an electrical industry, troubleshooting electrical systems, commissioning and final handover of electrical switchgear systems.
  • Ability to safely and effectively follow written and verbal instructions.
Physical / ADA Requirements

Due to the nature of our work, Team Members may be required to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis, carry objects over distance, bend/twist, squat, climb ladders, stand for extended periods of time, use tools requiring manual dexterity, and may be required to operate powered industrial equipment.
