Job summary

Vertiv is seeking an Integrated Solution Test Technician in Pelzer, SC, to assist in the development of Integrated Solutions product lines. The candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting, testing, and inspecting complex electrical systems and operating test equipment.

The ideal applicant will have a High School Diploma or GED, preferably with an Associates Degree in a related field and 1-2 years of electrical industry experience. Responsibilities include maintaining a positive attitude towards targets, conducting electrical system tests, and traveling to customer locations if necessary.

Overview

Integrated Solution Test Technician
Vertiv is currently looking to bring a driven Test Technician onto our team to assist in the development of our Integrated Solutions product lines. We are looking for an individual who is detail-oriented, a leader, and technically proficient. We are building a motivated team of technicians who will produce a quality product for some of the most prestigious clients in the world.

The ideal candidate will troubleshoot, test, and inspect complex electrical systems, operate all types of test equipment, and have some experience in coordination of electrical systems.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain positive, progressive, and productive attitude toward plant targets and objectives regarding reliability, accountability, safety, integrity, quality, and productivity as a unified goal.
  • Perform all aspects of testing and maintenance of electrical systems up to 480v.
  • Perform instrument transformer tests, power transformer testing, automatic transfer switch troubleshooting, generator testing, power meter testing, and circuit breaker testing.
  • Troubleshooting capabilities, relay calibration, use of load and power quality recording instrumentation, medium voltage breaker and testing.
  • Testing and troubleshooting complex electrical systems, moderately complex relay systems and power metering.
  • Write complete, detailed reports promptly at end of project using a computer, and recording of test results for detailed completion of test booklets.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical standards.
  • Take an active role in business development and expansion.
  • Complete extensive on-the-job and classroom trainings related to testing complex electrical systems safely and effectively.
  • Monitor and maintain assigned tools and equipment and follow all safety protocols.
  • May be required to travel to customer locations.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Currently pursuing or completed Associates Degree in an applicable field (Electrical Engineering, Industrial Electronics, etc.) preferred.
  • 1-2 years experience working in an electrical industry, troubleshooting electrical systems, commissioning and final handover of electrical switchgear systems.
  • Ability to safely and effectively follow written and verbal instructions.
Physical / ADA Requirements

Due to the nature of our work, team members may be required to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis, carry objects over distance, bend/twist, squat, climb ladders, stand for extended periods of time, use tools requiring manual dexterity, and may be required to operate powered industrial equipment.
