Job summary

Vertiv Co is seeking an Integrated Solution Test Technician to support development of our Integrated Solutions product lines. You will troubleshoot, test, and inspect complex electrical systems and operate a variety of test equipment.

The role requires reading and interpreting electrical standards, maintaining safety protocols, and possibly travel to customer sites to support validation and commissioning with a collaborative team.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Pursuing or completed Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering or Industrial Electronics preferred.
  • 1–2 years of electrical industry experience.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, test, and inspect electrical systems up to 480 V.
  • Operate test equipment and perform transformer and switchgear testing.
  • Write detailed test reports upon project completion.
  • Read and interpret electrical standards.
  • Travel to customer locations may be required.
  • Support business development and expansion.

Integrated Solution Test Technician

Vertiv is currently looking to bring a driven Test Technician onto our team to assist in the development of our Integrated Solutions product lines. We are looking for an individual who is detail-oriented leader and technically proficient. We are building a motivated team of technicians who will produce a quality product for some of the most prestigious clients in the world.

The ideal candidate will troubleshoot, test, and inspect complex electrical systems, operate all types of test equipment, and have some experience in coordination of electrical systems.

Essential Job Functions
  • Maintain positive, progressive, and productive attitude toward plant targets and objectives regarding reliability, accountability, safety, integrity, quality, and productivity as a unified goal.
  • Perform all aspects of testing and maintenance of electrical systems up to 480v.
  • Perform instrument transformer tests, power transformer testing, automatic transfer switch troubleshooting, generator testing, power meter testing, and circuit breaker testing.
  • Troubleshooting capabilities, relay calibration, use of load and power quality recording instrumentation, medium voltage breaker and testing.
  • Testing and troubleshooting complex electrical systems, moderately complex relay systems and power metering.
  • Write complete, detailed reports promptly at end of project using a computer, and recording of test results for detailed completion of test booklets
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical standards
  • Take an active role in business development and expansion.
  • Complete extensive on-the-job and classroom trainings related to testing complex electrical systems safely and effectively.
  • Montior and maintain assigned tools and equipment and follow all safety protocols.
  • May be required to travel to customer locations.
Required Knowledge, Experience, Skills, and Abilities
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Currently pursuing or completed Associates Degree in an applicable field (Electrical Engineering, Industrial Electronics, etc.) preferred.
  • 1-2 years experience successfully working in an electrical industry, troubleshooting electrical systems, commissioning and final handover of electrical switchgear systems.
  • Ability to safely and effectively follow written and verbal instructions.
Physical / ADA Requirements

Due to the nature of our work, Team Members may be required to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis, carry objects over distance, bend/twist, squat, climb ladders, stand for extended periods of time, use tools requiring manual dexterity, and may be required to operate powered industrial equipment.
