Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Test Technician/Trainer in Delaware, OH to support engineering test activities for the single phase UPS line. The role acts as the local lab resident, organizing equipment, conducting tests, and reporting findings for new product development and sustaining tests.

The candidate will train staff, set up tests, assist prototype assembly, and maintain a safe, productive lab environment with strong documentation and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with 3–5 or 2–3 years test experience.
• Ability to read schematics and identify components in electrical circuits.
• Experience with AC/DC power <20 kVA, sensors, firmware interfacing, and batteries.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and lab safety awareness.
• Excellent planning, documentation, and cross-functional teamwork.

Brief Job Description

TheTest TechnicianTrainer will support the engineering test activities for Vertiv’s single phase UPS line of business. Acts as the local Delaware, OH Single Phase UPS lab resident by organizing equipment, setting up and performing tests, and reporting findings. Will mainly support new product development and occasionally support sustaining test activities.

Responsibilities

• Train Test Employees and document requirement documents.
• Sets up and performs tests requested by product engineers.
• Assist with assembly of prototype units
• Organizes and maintains a safe, clean, productive lab space.
• Performs product tear downs and technical analysis down to the PCB level.
• Reports findings in an organized manner.

Requirements

• Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering orequivalent with 3-5 years test engineering experience with electrical-based products OR Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with 2-3 years test engineering experience with electrical-based products.
• Basic working knowledge in power/electrical engineering; AC and DC power <20kVA circuits, microprocessor and sensor interfacing, firmware interfacing, DC batteries, connectors/wire harnesses.
• Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and identification of components.
• Strong engineering troubleshooting skills with the ability to solve (and prevent) a wide range of problems quickly andmethodically.
• Ability to operate in an electrical testing lab environment safely and successfully.
• Very strong planning, organizing, documentation, and communicationskills.
• Ability to multitask and operate in cross functional global developmentteams.

Physical & Environmental Demands

• Ability to lift to 50-75 lbs (23-34 kg) and team lift to 100-150 lbs (45-68 kg).
