Job summary

Sigma Design is seeking a Test Technician III for in-office work in Redmond or Kirkland, WA. The role requires advanced testing expertise and the ability to guide junior technicians within a fast-paced lab environment.

You will design complex test processes, troubleshoot equipment, and collaborate with engineers to drive improvements. Swing shift 1:30pm–10pm with competitive benefits and paid time off.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; 2-3 year STEM diploma preferred.
  • 4+ years of progressive experience in product development or manufacturing test.
  • Excellent communication skills to explain complex concepts.
  • Advanced hands-on and mechanical/electrical aptitude.
  • Expert proficiency with test equipment and lab software platforms.
  • Proven leadership and mentoring capabilities.

Test Technician III

Sigma Design is a product development, engineering, and manufacturing firm. Position Details:
  • In-Office in both Redmond, WA or Kirkland, WA
  • Swing Shift, Monday - Friday: 1:30pm - 10pm
  • The hiring range for this role is typically between $35 and $44, with the full range extending to $52 per hour, based on experience, internal equity, and career progression
Primary Function:

The Test Technician III performs complex testing assignments requiring advanced subject knowledge, takes initiative in problem-solving, and provides guidance to junior technicians while taking full ownership of testing deliverables.

Essential Job Functions - Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement complex test processes requiring advanced technical knowledge
  • Maintain client confidentiality and test impartiality
  • Take initiative in structuring work and solving technical problems independently
  • Guide and mentor junior technicians in test procedures and best practices
  • Own complete areas of testing responsibility with full accountability for outcomes
  • Collaborate with engineers to develop innovative test solutions and improvements
  • Lead coordination of testing operations across multiple technicians/operators
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting, repair, and upgrades of lab equipment and software
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive test documentation and knowledge transfer materials
  • Provide expert evaluation of test results and failure analysis
  • Support team performance and help technicians understand project requirements
  • Interface directly with clients on complex technical testing matters
  • Drive process improvements within testing operations
  • Follow Business Technology policies to protect sensitive data and reduce information security occurrences.
Education and Experience: (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities)
  • High school diploma or GED required; 2-3 year post-secondary diploma in STEM field highly preferred
  • Minimum of 4+ years of progressive experience in product development or manufacturing test environment
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to explain complex technical concepts
  • Advanced hands-on skills and proven mechanical/electrical aptitude
  • Expert proficiency with multi-meters, oscilloscopes, and advanced electronic lab equipment
  • Advanced proficiency with multiple operating systems and testing software platforms
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex test system issues
  • Demonstrated leadership and mentoring capabilities
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Work Environment:

Standard lab/production environment. Appropriate safety garments (PPE) must be worn. Occasionally may be required to work in environmental conditions that emulate typical user environments in order to facilitate design testing and validation. Occasionally may be required to travel as required to other facilities, clients or suppliers. Must be able to stand and work as long as 12 hours in different positions. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
