Job summary

FII is seeking a Test Technician in Houston to support the production line, inspect and maintain engineering test equipment, and participate in testing operations. The role involves hands-on repair, fault analysis, and data recording to ensure accurate test results.

Collaboration with test engineers and timely reporting of issues are essential. The successful candidate will have secondary education, technical English, and familiarity with Microsoft Office and Windows servers.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and maintain engineering test equipment, tools, and server room assets.
• Coordinate testing processes with active participation (e.g., setting up new stations, prioritizing tasks, product testing).
• Assist with repair and fault analysis of failed test products.
• Record data manually and electronically for traceability.
• Provide production support and collaborate with test engineers.
• Support the production line and inform the Engineering Department of issues as needed.

Job description

Main Function

• Coordination of testing processes with active participation (e.g. setting up new stations, prioritizing tasks, product testing).
• Active involvement in the repair and fault analysis of failed test products.
• Manual and electronic data recording.
• Production support and collaboration with test engineers.

Duties and Responsibilities

• The Test Technician is responsible for supporting the production line.
• Providing the Engineering Department with relevant information as needed (any issues must be reported to the direct supervisor and Engineering).
• Performing additional installation tasks.
• Monitoring of server operations.
• Timely notification to Engineering about the depletion of spare parts.
• Responsible for the safe and undamaged use of tools and high-value components, and for ensuring their availability.

Scope of Authority

• Decision-making authority:
• Responsible for maintaining the quality of the tasks and processes listed in the job description.
• Communication authority: Authorized to report issues and problems directly to the immediate supervisor.

Delegated Authority

• Authorized to carry out routine maintenance, testing, and installation tasks without prior approval, in accordance with established procedures and work instructions.
• Permitted to elevate technical issues and suggest process improvements directly to the Engineering team.

Qualification and Experience

• Minimum of secondary education.
• Proficiency in technical English.
• User-level knowledge of Microsoft Office and Microsoft operating systems (including Windows 10, Windows Server 2012 R2, and Windows Server 2016).
