Job description

JOB TITLE: Test Technician: Data Center Operations

LOCATION: Sunnyvale, CA (onsite)

PAY RANGE: $37.00 - $47.14/hr

DURATION: 6 months

TOP 3 SKILLS:
  1. Demonstrate proficiency with appropriate tools to build and repair automotive harnesses
  2. Demonstrate proficiency with diagnostic tools (primarily DMMs) to diagnose faults (voltage checks, continuity, shorts, opens, etc)
  3. Experience with building/troubleshooting/diagnosing computers
JOB DESCRIPTION

The Hardware-Software Integration team is responsible for ensuring various hardware subsystems work reliably on our software test platforms on a day-to-day basis. As the Engineering Technician, you will support the build and maintenance of these custom machines to enable software simulation.

This role is essential and fundamental to the execution stage of the autonomous software development program, ensuring that the simulation and test infrastructure operate predictably at all times. We are looking for someone who is comfortable with maintaining complex systems and excited about developing new ways to support a rapidly moving R&D organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair test hardware/equipment
  2. Build cable harnesses based on diagrams/drawings
  3. Coordinate with cross-functional teams for parts receiving, installs, upgrades, and decommissioning projects
  4. Assemble custom hardware to enable Hardware-in-the-Loop testing of software builds
  5. Use commercially available, off-the-shelf components to build computers
  6. Integrate network and vehicle system components in server racks
  7. Move and rack computer equipment weighing up to 50 pounds with assistance
  8. Create and track tickets within ticketing system to address hardware problems, incidents, and changes, providing details of work performed
QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Proficiency with tools to build and repair automotive harnesses
  2. Proficiency with diagnostic tools (primarily DMMs) for fault diagnosis
  3. Experience in building, troubleshooting, and diagnosing computers
  4. Excellent organizational and documentation skills
  5. Ability to lift 25-30 pound boxes
  6. Ability to crawl, bend to work on low equipment, and climb ladders up to 8 feet high
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Experience with Google Suite, Microsoft Office, JIRA, Confluence, or similar programs
  2. Automotive diagnostic experience (familiarity with CAN analyzers, scan tools, etc)
  3. Experience in running scripts and working with Linux-based systems
  4. B.S. in Engineering (Bonus Qualification)
