Position Overview
The Test Technician 2 is responsible for various testing setups, teardowns, and execution of tests under the direction of the Test Engineers.
Responsibilities
- Interact with the testing team and assist in all tasks related to testing of aircraft interior systems and components to substantiate their design requirements, assure product reliability and maturity upon entry into service while optimizing cost, weight, and function.
- Testing covers, but is not limited to: environmental (temperature variation, humidity, vibration, etc.), accelerated life, static loading, dynamic loading, material characterization, fire properties, acoustic, operational, electrical, refrigeration, airflow, and plumbing.
- Use hand and power tools and measurement devices to set up and conduct various tests on Aircraft Interior products.
- Read and interpret test plans and engineering drawings for proper test article setup and testing execution.
- May be required to design and build simple jigs to support testing execution.
- May be required to design and assemble simple pneumatic systems to support testing execution.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma, or equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience working in a testing or manufacturing environment.
- Computer Skills: Familiar with Microsoft Office Products.
- Other Skills:
- Mechanical aptitude
- Strong attention to detail
- Effective communication skills (verbal and written)
- Demonstrated proficiency to use hand tools, power tools, and measurement devices
- Proficiency in basic math skills, taking measurements, and simple calculations
- Ability to consistently and safely lift 25lbs with periodic requirement of up to 50lbs
- May be required to be trained for forklift operating.
- Ability to read and understand test plans and demonstrated proficiency with reading and understanding engineering drawings
Preferred
- 2-year Technical Degree
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment
