Job summary

Innomotics is seeking an Electrical Test Technician I (1st Shift) in New Kensington, PA. You will test VFDs, subassemblies and equipment, assemble systems, and verify performance against FAT criteria. You’ll work under the Manufacturing Supervisor and contribute to lean initiatives.

The role requires an Associate degree in Electronic Technology, hands-on testing tools experience, and the ability to read drawings and BOMs. Competitive benefits accompany this position.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Electronic Technology or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of test equipment including oscilloscopes, HIPOT tester, DMM, CTs.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools.
  • Read and interpret engineered drawings and BOMs.
  • Strong math and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Test variable frequency drives, subassemblies, components and equipment.
  • Assemble systems and sub-assemblies.
  • Demonstrate product functionality to defined test criteria using test equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on testing equipment and systems.
  • Read wiring diagrams and BOMs, follow wiring procedures.
  • Troubleshoot with guidance from senior EETs using schematics and drawings.
  • Maintain 5S, clean and safe work area; support Lean initiatives.
  • Assist in assembling systems and sub-assemblies and move products with handling devices.

We are looking for an Electrical Test Technician I (1st Shift) to join our team at Innomotics.
Hours: Monday - Thursday 6AM to 3PM; Friday 6AM to 10AM

Your Future Role
The Electrical Engineering Technician I [EET-I] will test variable frequency drives, subassemblies, various components and equipment. In addition, the EET-I will also be responsible for assembly of the various systems and sub-assembly products. The position reports directly to the Manufacturing Supervisor.
Responsibilities
The Electrical Engineering Technician I will be responsible for demonstrating product functionality to pre-defined test criteria and utilizing various test equipment. Also responsible for:

  • Adhere to all safety policies and properly utilize all PPE.
  • Assist EET-II and EET-III with connection and energizing of final product with low, medium, and high voltage.
  • Complete standard system Factory Acceptance Test [FAT] testing.
  • Perform required preventative maintenance of electrical testing equipment and systems.
  • Perform wiring, cable prepping, and assembling as per the wiring diagrams. Read and understand all related drawings including, but not limited to, assembly drawings, bill of material, test procedures.
  • Troubleshoot with assistance from EET-II and EET-III utilizing test results, schematics, and drawings.
  • Perform in-process inspection on product during assembly process.
  • Maintain safe, clean and orderly work area by utilizing 5S practices and participate in Lean initiatives.
  • Support assembly of the various systems and sub-assembly products.
  • Lift and position products to precise location using overhead cranes and other material handling devices (i.e., power jack, fork truck). Move/position product as required.
  • May be required to perform other duties in multiple buildings as requested, directed or assigned.
Your Profile
Knowledge/Skills, Education And Experience
  • Required Associate degree in Electronic Technology or equivalent.
  • Test equipment knowledge specifically but not limited to: Oscilloscopes, High Potential Tester, Digital Multi-Meter, and Clamp-on Current Transformers.
  • Experience utilizing hand and power tools.
  • Ability to perform responsibilities from engineered drawings, wiring schematics, and bill of materials.
  • Safely utilize ladders and scaffolding to work at heights above waist level.
  • Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Advanced math and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Advanced computer skills.
The pay range for this position is $23.62 to $32.48. The shift differential for working second shift is $2.50. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
