Position Summary:
The Test Technician is responsible for performing electrical and functional testing of power supply products and assemblies to ensure compliance with engineering specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements. This role supports production and engineering by troubleshooting assemblies to the component level, documenting test results, and assisting with failure analysis and corrective actions. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, experience working with analog and digital circuitry, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform electrical, functional, and environmental testing of assemblies, subassemblies, and finished products in accordance with documented procedures and specifications
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, and test procedures
- Troubleshoot electronic assemblies and systems to the component level and identify root causes of failures
- Conduct testing on switching power supplies and high-voltage products
- Utilize standard laboratory and testing equipment including oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, power analyzers, hipot testers, electronic loads, and power supplies
- Accurately document test results, failures, repairs, and corrective actions
- Work closely with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to resolve technical issues and improve product reliability
- Support failure analysis and rework activities as needed
- Verify product compliance with internal quality standards and customer requirementsMaintain organized work areas, calibration awareness, and proper handling of test equipment
- Assist in developing or improving test procedures and documentation when required
- Follow company safety procedures and manufacturing protocols at all times
- Perform additional duties and support production activities as assigned
Requirements:
- Associate degree in Electronics Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, or equivalent certified technical training
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Production Test Technician, Electronics Technician, Product Tester, or similar role in a manufacturing environment
- Experience working with analog and digital circuits
- Switching power supply experience required
- Experience with high-voltage testing (>400VAC) preferred
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation
- Proficiency in following documented test procedures and protocols
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve technical issues efficiently
- Knowledge of appropriate electrical and electronic testing methods
- Experience using industry-standard testing equipment and software
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple priorities
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, and lift equipment/materials as required throughout the workday
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident in accordance with ITAR requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in military, aerospace, defense, or regulated manufacturing environments
- Familiarity with IPC standards and electronic assembly practices
- Experience supporting root cause investigations and corrective actions
- Knowledge of quality systems and inspection documentation
