Job summary

Actalent in Milwaukee, WI is seeking an Engineering Test Technician to join our team of engineers and technicians working on new product development. This permanent, on-site role focuses on hands-on testing, data collection, and ensuring design validity through prototyping, measurements, and analysis.

You will set up tests, maintain lab equipment, wire and assemble bench-top solutions, and communicate findings to the engineering group.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or associate degree in a technical field (Electrical, Electronic, Automation, Mechanical) or military training.
  • Fundamentals of electronics, AC/DC circuits, motors, sensors, pneumatics and controllers.
  • Fundamental mechanical abilities and hands on experience.
  • Strong organizational, problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Able to use hand tools and power tools.
  • Ability to solder and wire components.
  • Knowledge of mechatronics incorporating mechanical, pneumatics, and electrical components.

Responsibilities

  • Exercise responsibility for thoroughness, timeliness and accuracy of work performed.
  • Oversee daily lab operations, including equipment calibration, inventory management and 6s standards.
  • Collect, document and analyze test data using tools like oscilloscopes, multimeters, and data acquisition systems, prepare detailed reports and communicate findings to engineering team.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues with lab equipment and experimental setups.
  • Perform preventative equipment maintenance and repairs of lab equipment.
  • Knowledge of machine component applications and assembly.
  • Assemble/wire experimental bench top solutions based on Electrical Schematics
  • Wire production electrical control panels based on Electrical Schematics
  • Participate in the improvement and development of testing and automated machinery
  • Agility to multi-task while maintaining efficiency and organization
  • Communicate effectively with engineers and technicians
  • Contribute to organizational goals and objectives

  • Hands-on fabrication experience i.e. mill, lathe, welding, etc.
  • Experience with data collection systems and sensor integration
Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Milwaukee, WI.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $75000.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
