Akkodis is seeking a Product Design Engineering Support Technician to assist with product fit-related studies in our California labs. You will assemble hardware prototypes, run bench tests, and support in-person user studies while collecting data and maintaining documentation.

In this role, you will troubleshoot lab equipment, organize findings, and help develop new test methods. The position requires hands-on hardware experience and the ability to work onsite five days a week in the Santa Clara

Qualificações

• Technician diploma or equivalent hands-on experience in product design, human factors, or engineering.
• Experience preparing or conducting user studies with prototypes.
• Hands-on prototype assembly and building test jigs/fixtures.
• Experience with lab measurements, imaging, and data collection.
• Ability to prepare scientific test reports and follow protocols.
• Understanding of the scientific method as applied to user studies.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
• Ability to learn new tools quickly.
• Proficiency with Keynote & Numbers, or PowerPoint & Excel.
• Ability to work onsite five days per week.

Responsabilidades

• Maintain study schedules, inventory, and project timelines.

• Transfer or pick up hardware between buildings within the Santa Clara Valley area.

We are looking for someone to support the Product Design Engineering team with product fit-related studies. You will assemble and test hardware prototypes, assist with in-person user studies, collect and analyze data, maintain lab equipment and documentation, and help improve testing procedures.

Pay Range: $37 - $39.85/hr.(The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.)

Required Qualifications:

• Technician diploma in product design, human factors, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Experience preparing or conducting user studies with prototypes.
• Hands-on experience with prototype assembly and building test jigs or fixtures.
• Experience with laboratory measurements, imaging, and data collection.
• Ability to prepare scientific test reports and follow established protocols.
• Understanding of the scientific method and its application to user studies.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects.
• Ability to learn new tools, software, and laboratory techniques quickly.
• Proficiency with Keynote and Numbers, or PowerPoint and Excel.
• Ability to work onsite five days per week.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in human factors, biomechanics, or research studies.
• Technical writing experience for test plans and results.
• Experience with Instron or other materials testing equipment.
• Familiarity with sensors such as force sensors, accelerometers, lasers, temperature, and pressure sensors.
• Experience with metrology equipment such as CMM, OMM, microscopy, or laser scanners.
• Familiarity with oscilloscopes, multimeters, or other basic electronics equipment.
• Hands-on experience with small electromechanical devices.
• Programming experience with MATLAB, LabVIEW, Python, or similar tools.
