Job summary

REQ Solutions Pvt Ltd. in Carlsbad, CA is seeking a capable technician to join a tech lab environment focused on R&D testing of catheter components and devices.

You will execute a wide range of mechanical tests, follow established test methods, and collaborate with R&D catheter engineers to develop fixtures and test setups. Prior experience in medical devices or related fields is preferred.

Qualifications

• AA Degree or equivalent work experience in related discipline and 2+ years of related experience.
• Candidates who have worked in medical device or space/defense industry preferred.
• Experience with tensile testing, microscopy, or electrical measurement equipment
• Ability to operate complex equipment; quick learner
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Capable of reading and following technical instructions

Responsibilities

• Test catheter components and devices in a lab setting.
• Perform tensile, balloon fatigue, burst, and functional testing.
• Develop and verify test methods for catheter assemblies.
• Collaborate with engineers on test setups and fixtures.
• Execute mechanical, pull tensile, flex, torque, and insertion/retraction tests following methods.
• Capture data accurately and follow protocols with meticulous setup.
• Operate Word and Excel for documentation and data sharing.

Onsite Role

Responsibilities

• This is a tech lab environment / electrical, mechanical environment.
• This person will report to the hiring manager; also, will be working with R&D catheter engineers and Techs.
• This role involves R&D testing of medical devices (catheter components, subassemblies, as well as full catheter devices).
• Execute a wide range of tests including tensile testing, balloon fatigue and burst testing, and catheter functional testing.
• Perform development and design verification testing on catheter assemblies following written test methods.
• Work with engineers in the development of test setups and fixture implementation.
• Execute mechanical, pull tensile testing, flex testing, torque testing, and catheter insertion/retraction testing following engineering instructions and test methods.
• Execute semi-automated testing with meticulous setup requirements.
• Attention to detail and the ability to follow protocols and capture data accurately is a must.
• PC knowledge/experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and file sharing/saving abilities are required.
• Ability to execute repetitive testing in nature for short/long periods.
