Advantage Technical is hiring an R&D Technician in Carlsbad, CA. The role supports testing and development of advanced medical devices in a hands-on environment. You will perform R&D tests on catheter components and devices, handle data, and follow established protocols.

This temporary, part-time position offers daytime core hours and a pay rate up to $41.50/hour. Prior experience in medical device testing and proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel are valued, along with strong mechanical

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent related work experience.
• 2+ years of relevant technical or R&D experience.
• Experience with tensile testing, microscopy, or electrical measurement equipment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and follow detailed technical instructions.
• Previous medical device experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform R&D testing on catheter components, subassemblies, and finished devices.
• Conduct tensile, balloon fatigue, burst, flex, torque, and functional testing.
• Perform catheter insertion and retraction testing using established test methods.
• Execute development and design verification testing.
• Partner with engineers to develop test setups and implement fixtures.
• Operate semi-automated and complex testing equipment.
• Accurately collect, document, save, and share test data.
• Follow written protocols, engineering instructions, and quality requirements.
• Perform repetitive testing for extended periods as needed.
