Job summary

Sechan Electronics, Inc. seeks an experienced Electronics Test Technician III to test, troubleshoot, repair, and modify developmental and production electronic components and systems.

You will analyze results from test equipment, read schematics, and support engineering and production teams in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include calibrating equipment, maintaining logs, and advancing to lead technician on complex projects while upholding a safe and professional work setting.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or military training in electronics.
  • 10+ years testing and troubleshooting complex electronics assemblies.
  • Advanced RF, digital and analog electronics knowledge.
  • Ability to operate test systems and troubleshooting to component level.

Responsibilities

  • Test electronic units using standard equipment and analyze results.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and calibration of equipment.
  • Read blueprints and schematics to assemble electronic units.
  • Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions, independently or with engineers.

We are seeking a highly skilled Electronics Test Technician to support the testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of electronic units and test systems. This role requires strong analytical skills, hands‑on technical expertise, and the ability to work independently on complex electronic systems while supporting engineering and production teams.

The Test Technician III will test, troubleshoot, repair and modify developmental and production electronic components, parts, equipment, and systems, such as computer equipment, and test equipment, applying principles and theories of electronics, electronic circuitry, and electronic systems testing.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Test electronic units, using standard test equipment, and analyze results to evaluate performance and determine need for adjustment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and calibration of equipment and systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
  • Read blue prints, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, and engineering instructions for assembling electronic units, applying knowledge of electronic theory and components.
  • Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions, working independently or with engineers.
  • Advanced ability to identify complex problems and evaluate options to implement a solution.
  • Maintain system logs and manuals to document testing and operation of equipment.
  • Assemble, test, and maintain test equipment or electronic systems according to engineering instructions.
  • Maintain inventory of test equipment, related documentation, and location of equipment.
  • Maintain working knowledge of test equipment, tools or software by attending, workshops or other training.
  • Watch gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure machines, environmental chambers, and electronic equipment is working properly.
  • Determine the type of tools and equipment needed to perform a job.
  • Ability to troubleshoot failures to component level.
  • May act as lead technician on complex projects.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to drive the vision, fulfill the mission, and abide by the values of this organization.
Skills & Abilities:
  • Knowledgeable in electronics and computer equipment, testing and processing, and troubleshooting circuit components.
  • Knowledge of incoming test requirements, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effectiveness of the testing process.
  • Knowledge and ability to use a wide variety of hand tools, measuring devices, lab standards, and test equipment.
  • Advanced ability to read and interpret technical documents, schematics, drawings, and wire diagrams.
  • Ability to operate test systems, test equipment, and computer systems.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Windows.
  • Proficient with test software and platforms.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills with attention to details.
  • Capable of multi-tasking and handling constant changes in priorities.
  • Advanced computer skills required
Qualifications:
  • An associate's degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering or military training.
  • 10+ years of related work experience including testing and troubleshooting complex electronic assemblies.
  • Advanced knowledge in RF, digital, and analog electronics.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate test systems, test equipment, computer systems and trouble shoot.
  • Demonstrated ability utilizing test software and platforms.
  • Ability to use a wide variety of hand tools, measuring devices, lab standards, and test equipment.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain a Department of Defense security clearance.
Work Environment:
  • Production Environment: Requires physical capability to work in a production environment up to 9 hours a day including; sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities including; close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • 9/80 work schedule.
