PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Requires a high level of organizational and management skills to provide direction and oversight to Field Service Personnel located at multiple locations at once, ensuring that contract requirements and customer needs are met
  • Interact with internal and external customers and develop detailed reports related to vehicle testing, repairs, scheduling, assigning personnel and other field operations and issues
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining quality processes, procedures, SSP for test support, and initiatives for continual improvement to support operations
  • Provides continuous evaluation and documentation of direct report and contract Test Site Field Service Representatives to ensure consistency, and quality of support, using internal process procedures
  • Prepare yearly direct report evaluations in conjunction with semi-annual Goal progress counseling
  • Act as a role model to mentor, train, and provide resource support to assist in the development of Field Service Representatives
  • Provide Test Site Supervisory duties when required at a multitude of CONUS and OCONUS, both US and Foreign Test Site location as dictated by contractual obligations when required
  • Acceptance of frequent travel both short and long-term is a must for this position
  • Assists Test Site Manager with Statement of Work, Basis of Estimates, SAP, SSP, and workforce requirements in support of all vehicle test planning and execution at all test site locations
  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert for JLTV technical information, tooling, and maintenance procedures
  • Promote AM General Training and Field Service capabilities to customers worldwide with business development strategies, marketing publications, and tradeshow participation
  • Interact and coordinate with various Government test personnel, and personnel from the Joint Program Office to ensure contract obligations are being met at all times
  • As part of AM Generals Quality Management System, the Test Site Field Service Supervisor will be responsible for quality processes, procedures, and continual improvement initiatives for the JLTV FoV
  • Manage, assign, and provide directions to Field Service Representatives in support of all Test Site support obligations along with global field service operations
  • Develop processes and manage operations to support prototype vehicle testing, field service retrofits, inspections, new equipment fielding, services, and maintenance operations worldwide
  • Responsible for matching appropriate support to current and future tasks while remaining flexible to shift support when priorities change
  • Works cross-functionally with Field Service & Training, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality to facilitate process improvements supporting continual improvement
  • Serves as Lead for Integrated Project Teams related to Field Service Testing activities
  • Serves as Subject Matter Expert for technical information, tooling, maintenance procedures, and provides guidance to Field Service personnel in support of AM General product testing
  • Ensure that direct and contract Field Service Representatives receive regular training, provided with appropriate knowledge, latest tooling in order to be successful
  • Ensure manuals and correct repair procedures are followed by FSRs when applying TWADs, ECPs, scheduled services, and unscheduled maintenance repairs while adhering to test site protocols
  • Provide detailed reports on program execution and quality control initiatives
  • Manages all Field Service & Test Site contract requirements and ensures deliverables are compliant and on time

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • An automotive vocational degree or five-year automotive technical experience is a Automotive Service and Excellence (ASE) Certifications are a plus
  • Prior Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) experience in the maintenance field related to the JLTV (Joint Light Tactical Vehicle) is desirable
  • Must have extremely strong communication skills (written and verbal), the ability to work independently and as part of a team, multi-task with attention to detail, have strong customer service skills with problem-solving skills, a high level of initiative, and possess expected leadership qualities
  • Minimum 5+ years relevant experience in Management, with a background in Field service operations
  • Prior Government Test Site Experience is strongly emphasized and desired for this position
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint, Teamcenter) is required
  • Knowledge and familiarity with SAP Operating Systems is highly desired
  • Must be able to adapt to a fast-paced working environment while managing more than one project at a time
  • Willingness to travel within CONUS and OCONUS locations for extended periods and have sufficient credit to be approved for a company credit card
  • Must excel in the ability to lead programs to manage project deadlines
  • Strong organization and planning skills as well as a high level of self-motivation
  • Must be able to qualify, obtain, and hold a U.S. Government clearance and/or CAC

PHYSICAL EFFORT

  • Sight: must be able to regularly read computer screens, reports, and various documents with detail and clarity to accomplish tasks in a safe and efficient manner, including regular use of adequate close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus
  • Hearing: must be able to regularly hear well enough to communicate

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Physical Location: This position operates between an office and manufacturing plant environment and is often assigned to a specific shift or hours. The Employee must be able to perform job functions in an environment with varying difficult work conditions such as extreme cold, heat, inclement weather, at heights, and/or while exposed to constant/intermittent loud noises
  • Teamwork: This position will work with others to ensure efficiency in the workplace
  • Listening Skills: This position will need to understand how to use machinery properly and safely to prevent accidents and ensure all tasks are completed accurately
  • Ability to follow instructions: Managers assign tasks and responsibilities, which vary; this position should be able to follow instructions competently
  • Methodical approach: Production lines follow a set process, so this position needs a methodical approach to ensure all tasks are completed in the correct order for a smooth-running production line
  • Concentration: This position may perform the same or similar tasks repeatedly, so a strong level of concentration when carrying out these tasks is important for quality control This role is often fast paced, so being able to maintain focus at all times is important
