Job description

Insight Global is seeking a Test Services Lead to join our client's division and oversee a specialized EMI/RF testing business that supports both internal product development and external customer testing engagements. This position is heavily focused on technical expertise and customer interaction. The ideal candidate will be comfortable operating within a laboratory environment, conducting and overseeing EMI/RF testing, reviewing data, interpreting results, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and certifications. Brian is prioritizing deep testing expertise over management experience and is open to candidates who have never formally managed people if their technical background is strong.

Beyond laboratory work, this individual will help manage customer relationships, review testing requests, validate test reports, support audits, coordinate equipment investments, and contribute to the overall growth strategy of the testing organization. The team serves customers across a variety of industries and helps troubleshoot product failures, conduct certification testing, and validate shielding performance. This role offers significant long-term growth opportunity, as the senior test engineer is approaching retirement and Parker is looking for someone who can become a key leader for the future of the department, drive expansion opportunities, and help shape the next generation of testing capabilities and laboratory services.

Must Haves:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field
  • 4+ years of EMI/RF testing experience in a laboratory, compliance, or product testing environment
  • Strong understanding of electromagnetic interference (EMI), radio frequency (RF), shielding, and compliance testing methodologies
  • Experience operating and interpreting results from laboratory test equipment including antennas, receivers, oscilloscopes, and related instrumentation
  • Experience supporting testing against industry standards, certifications, audits, and compliance requirements
  • Ability to review technical test plans, analyze results, and develop customer-facing reports
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact directly with external customers
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Management or team leadership experience
  • Experience working in an accredited test laboratory environment
  • Business development or customer-facing consulting experience
  • Experience preparing quotes, RFQs, budgets, or capital equipment plans
  • Experience supporting medical device, electronics, aerospace, or manufacturing customers
  • Background in product certification, quality systems, or regulatory compliance
