Flex is seeking a test operator to join its manufacturing team in Austin. You will test electronic products, components, and systems for electrical continuity and function across various platforms and stress chambers.

Responsibilities

• Test electronic products, components and systems for electrical continuity and function on various test platforms.
• Ensure seal integrity using fluids in leak testing procedures.
• Perform destructive testing to verify bonding processes and stop the line if issues are found.
• Collect diagnostic information to isolate product failures and record test yields.
• Enter test yield data into the SPC system and notify engineers when yields drop.
• Inspect products for correct placement and orientation of components and for damage or contamination.
• Place test marks on electronics that pass tests and run tester diagnostics at intervals.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance on testers and fixtures and may train others.

Principle Accountabilities

• Tests electronic products, components and systems for electrical continuity and function and reliability on a variety of test platforms and static/dynamic stress chambers.
• Ensure products have seal integrity using fluids in leak testing procedures. Determine if the product passes based on pressure dropping test procedures.
• Test products using destructive test processes to determine if bonding process is proper and completed. Responsible to stop the line if any product fails the destructive test requirements.
• Determines if the designated product passes all test cycles. Collects diagnostic information needed to isolate any product failure.
• Enters test yield data into appropriate statistical process control system.
• Notifies the appropriate test/quality engineer if test yields drop below acceptable levels.
• Inspects product for the correct placement and orientation of untested components.
• Inspects product for any physical damage or contamination.
• Places the appropriate test marks on all electronics pass test.
• Runs tester diagnostics at specified intervals.
• Performs routine preventive maintenance at specified intervals on testers, chambers, fixtures, carrier cards, etc.
• May train others.

Education / Experience

Completion of a high school degree or equivalent is preferred. Successful completion of company provided training may be required. Typically requires 2 years of test operator or related experience.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

Demonstrates manufacturing line skills. Demonstrates detailed manufacturing line knowledge and may lead process. Has awareness of Flex technologies/techniques.

Able to read and comprehend simple instructions. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees, leads, and supervisors of the organization.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Typically requires moderate amount of supervision.
