Job summary

Zentech Manufacturing, Inc. is seeking a Test Operator to test, troubleshoot, and verify PCBAs throughout manufacturing. You will operate automated and manual test equipment, document results, and support ongoing process improvements.

The role requires reading schematics and technical docs, basic electronics knowledge, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and safety standards. DUT listing and testing will involve ICT, flying probe, and functional tests.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Basic electronics knowledge of components and PCB assemblies.
  • Ability to read work instructions, docs and drawings.
  • Intermediate computer skills (Office and manufacturing software).
  • Experience using hand tools and electronic measuring equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Capable of working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Perform ICT, flying probe, functional tests on PCBAs.
  • Set up and operate automated and manual test equipment.
  • Verify assemblies meet specs and quality standards.
  • Identify and document electrical/mechanical defects.
  • Troubleshoot test failures and escalate as needed.
  • Read Schematics, BOMs, drawings, and test docs.
  • Record test results in manufacturing systems.
  • Operate oscilloscopes, DMMs, power supplies, etc.
  • Follow IPC standards, ESD controls and safety policies.
  • Communicate defects and equipment issues to teams.
  • Support new product introductions and process improvements.
  • Maintain clean, organized, safe work area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Test Operator
Position Summary

The Test Technician is responsible for testing, troubleshooting, and verifying the functionality of printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) throughout the manufacturing process. This position ensures products meet customer, IPC, and company quality standards by operating automated and manual test equipment, identifying defects, documenting results, and supporting continuous process improvement. The Test Technician works closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Repair personnel to resolve test failures and maintain production efficiency.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform functional, in-circuit (ICT), flying probe, and other electrical tests on printed circuit board assemblies.
  • Set up, operate, and monitor automated and manual test equipment according to work instructions and test procedures.
  • Verify that completed assemblies meet customer specifications, manufacturing requirements, and quality standards.
  • Identify, isolate, and document electrical and mechanical defects found during testing.
  • Troubleshoot basic test failures and escalate complex issues to Engineering or Repair Technicians as needed.
  • Read and interpret schematics, bills of materials (BOMs), assembly drawings, work instructions, and test documentation.
  • Record test results, failure data, and production information accurately within manufacturing systems.
  • Use electronic test equipment, including digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and other diagnostic instruments.
  • Follow IPC workmanship standards, ESD control procedures, and all company safety policies.
  • Communicate recurring defects, yield concerns, and equipment issues to Production, Quality, and Engineering teams.
  • Support new product introductions, process improvements, and continuous quality initiatives.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Basic knowledge of electronics, electronic components, and circuit board assemblies.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions, technical documentation, and assembly drawings.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office and manufacturing software.
  • Experience using hand tools and electronic measuring equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining quality standards.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
Preferred
  • Technical training or an Associate degree in Electronics, Electrical Technology, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in PCB or electronics manufacturing.
  • Experience operating ICT, Flying Probe, Functional Test, or Boundary Scan equipment.
  • Familiarity with IPC-A-610, IPC-J-STD-001, and ESD (ANSI/ESD S20.20) requirements.
  • Experience with MES/ERP systems and electronic manufacturing documentation.
