Job Description - Test Operations Project Engineer for Gateway GRAIL (ADV000AQ5)

We are seeking a passionate Test Operations Project Engineer for Gateway GRAIL to join our team, supporting NASA's lunar exploration initiatives. This role is vital to certifying avionics for the Gateway Program modules and involves collaboration across various teams and support for testing operations, including potential second shift support.

The Test Operations Project Engineer for Gateway GRAIL will:

• Support the success of the Gateway Ready Avionics Integration Lab (GRAIL), certifying avionics for lunar modules.
• Support design and support of avionic testing hardware.
• Coordinate testing activities with MCC Scheduling, GRAIL Operations and Maintenance, Safety Quality and Assurance, and other groups.
• Assist in Test Readiness Reviews (URR/TRR).
• Ensure QA/QE support and documentation for testing.
• Perform pre-task briefs and execute validation testing as Test Operations Engineer.
• Archive test results and contribute to Post Test Reports (PTR).
• Develop top-level test procedures in DOORS Next Generation and support ground and flight testing.
• Utilize Linux workstations and scripts for lab operations.
• Support hardware verification, validation, and integration testing.
• Review project schedules, engineering deliverables, and CAD drawings.
• Coordinate with vendors for hardware specifications and delivery.
• Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or IT; 1+ years of experience.
• Strong communication and organizational skills; ability to work in a team.
• Understanding of electrical, mechanical, and power systems, as well as lab operations and documentation.
• Support for second shift hours may be required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of avionics hardware and flight processes.
• Experience with NASA avionics systems.
