Beneva Group has been engaged by a stable and growing manufacturer power equipment to help find their next Test Lab Manager in the Northeast US area. This is a vital role that will lead the laboratory responsible for testing and qualifying of their medium voltage products. This position offers significant growth potential as our client continues to expand under new ownership. In this role, you will manage a team of 6 engineers and technicians responsible for testing and qualifying medium voltage products.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a team of engineers and technicians in product qualification testing
• Plan and execute internal R&D testing requested by engineering
• Manage the test area schedule, collaborating with engineering
• Conduct root cause analysis and produce product failure analysis reports
• Oversee all electrical test equipment, including production electrical test cells
• Work toward achieving ISO 17025 certification for the lab
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to team members

Required Qualifications

• Electrical Engineering degree with focus in Power Engineering
• Experience in a high voltage/medium voltage testing environment
• Knowledge of electrical distribution or transmission systems
• Understanding of impulse testers, dielectric discharge testers, corona testers, and high-pot test equipment
• Experience with partial discharge measurements and evaluation
• Proficiency in writing technical documents and reports
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Excellent statistical and data analysis capabilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ISO 17025 laboratory certification standards
• Direct experience working with utilities or substations
• Management experience in a technical environment
• Multilingual capabilities a plus with preference to Russian or Czech languages
• Familiarity with medium voltage cable accessories and components
