Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a laboratory, manufacturing, assembly, or shop environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in equipment assembly.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
  • Proficiency with hand tools and assembly equipment.
  • Basic computer skills, including data entry and documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Effective problem-solving skills and customer-focused mindset.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble components, subassemblies, and equipment according to procedures and drawings.
  • Conduct functional testing of products and systems per specs.

  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot testing equipment.
  • Ensure testing follows safety procedures and quality standards.

  • Assist with material handling using forklifts, cranes.

  • Train personnel on procedures, equipment operation, and safety.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision and as a team member.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

The Test Lab Mechanic V is responsible for the assembly, testing, and validation of components, subassemblies, and finished products in laboratory and simulated field environments. This role ensures equipment is assembled and tested according to engineering specifications, customer requirements, and established safety and quality standards. The technician will record test data, maintain equipment and test fixtures, and support continuous improvement initiatives while working collaboratively with engineering and test lab teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble components, subassemblies, and equipment according to documented procedures and engineering drawings.
  • Conduct functional testing of products and systems based on customer specifications and engineering standards.
  • Perform testing in laboratory and simulated field conditions, accurately documenting and recording test results.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot testing equipment, machinery, and test fixtures.
  • Ensure all testing activities are conducted using proper safety procedures and precautions.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Support material handling activities, including the use of forklifts, cranes, and other equipment as required.
  • Collaborate with engineering and test lab teams to resolve issues and support continuous improvement efforts.
  • Assist in training personnel on laboratory procedures, equipment operation, and safety practices.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision while contributing effectively as a team member.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, and move for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift and move materials and equipment in accordance with safety guidelines.
  • Ability to perform material movement activities using forklifts, cranes, and manual handling methods as required.
  • Ability to work safely around laboratory and manufacturing equipment.
