Job summary

NAmTrans is seeking a Test Industrial Manager in Plattsburgh, NY to lead a team of Test & Commissioning engineers and technicians. You will guide workshop planning, ensure procedures are followed, and drive the handover from Manufacturing to Testing to support reliable rail testing.

You will manage KPIs related to quality, productivity, and safety, ensuring tools and parts are available and collaborating across functions to deliver high-quality results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• 3–4 years of experience in Testing & Commissioning in rail, factory automation, process industry or similar environments.
• Solid knowledge of electrical and control systems, onboard communications, and network systems.
• Understanding of cabling, earthing & bonding, protection systems, and instrumentation.
• Strong people-management and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of Test & Commissioning engineers and technicians with daily direction and coaching.
• Plan testing workshop workloads and manage resource availability.
• Ensure testing aligns with approved procedures and acceptance criteria with accurate results.
• Coordinate handover from Manufacturing to Testing.
• Monitor KPIs related to quality, productivity, lead time, customer acceptance, and EHS.
• Ensure availability of tools, equipment, and spare parts.
• Consolidate test reports and communicate project performance to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Project, Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Customer representatives.
• Promote continuous improvement, operational excellence, and safety compliance.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Additional Information

Salary Range

In accordance with New York State pay transparency requirements, the anticipated annual salary range for this position is $70,000 - $90,000. Actual compensation will be based on factors including experience, education, skills, and qualifications. This salary range reflects base pay only and does not include bonus opportunities, incentive compensation, or other benefits.
