Job summary

Connection Technology Center (CTC) in Victor, NY is seeking a Test Engineer II to design and support electrical and electronic control systems used in manufacturing and final acceptance testing. You will work with Mechanical, Electrical, and Information Systems teams to develop test equipment, troubleshoot systems, and improve manufacturing processes, ensuring reliable performance of production equipment.

A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Controls Engineering and 2–3 years of hands-on

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical or Controls Engineering or related field.
• 2–3 years in electronic design and calibration systems.
• Experience with industrial controls and manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement automated test equipment for product calibration.
• Develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts.
• Provide technical support for production equipment and processes.
• Assist in root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Create electrical drawings, BOMs, specs, and procedures.
• Develop test procedures and work instructions for equipment.
• Support ISO quality and regulatory requirements for test equipment.

Are you passionate about designing and supporting robust controls systems for product quality validation? As a crucial member of our engineering department, the Test Engineer II designs and supports electrical and electronic control systems used in manufacturing and final acceptance testing. This role works closely with Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Information Systems teams to develop test equipment, troubleshoot complex electrical systems, improve manufacturing processes, and ensure reliable performance of production equipment and products.

The ideal candidate combines strong electrical engineering fundamentals with hands‑on experience in industrial controls, automation, instrumentation, and problem‑solving within a manufacturing environment.

Main Responsibilities

• Design and implement automated test equipment and validation systems, particularly for product calibration processes.
• Develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts.
• Provide technical support for production equipment, processes, and troubleshooting activities.
• Assist in root cause analysis and corrective actions related to equipment failures and quality concerns.
• Create and maintain electrical drawings, bills of materials, technical specifications, and operating procedures.
• Develop test procedures and work instructions for production use of test equipment.
• Support ISO quality requirements, company documentation standards, and other regulatory requirements pertaining to test equipment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills to address challenges in electrical & test systems design.
• Flexibility to work in a fast‑paced environment and adapt to changing project requirements.
• Capability to conduct thorough testing and validation of electrical systems.
• Ability to prepare comprehensive documentation, including design specifications and technical reports.
• A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Must be able to work individually as well as in a small team environment.
• Strong proficiency in MATLAB, understanding of LabView preferred.
• Experience working with NI modules and systems, particularly CRIO.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 2-3 years of experience in electronic design and electronic circuit assembly processes.
• Experience in the design, repair, and analysis of electronic & calibration systems.

Work Location

This in‑person position will work out of the Victor, NY facility.

Salary Range

Starting at $75,000 annually. Relevant experience and qualifications will be taken into consideration
