The role requires an AA or equivalent, 1+ year in a testing lab, and basic CAD/data skills; this onsite position offers hands-on work in a structured lab setting.

Test & Evaluation Lab Tech 2 – Structures Lab

Location: Tukwila, WA (100% Onsite)

Position Type: Contract (12 Months, Full-Time)

Pay Rate: $38/hr. on W2

Shift: 1st Shift

About the Role

Join the Aerospace Structures Lab team to conduct mechanical, static, and fatigue testing on aerospace materials, aircraft components, and subcomponents. You will operate servo-hydraulic and mechanical-screw load frames using MTS testing software to evaluate material properties per ASTM, Boeing, and military specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Mechanical & Structural Testing: Perform mechanical static, fatigue, and proof tests on metallic and composite airframe components.


• Equipment Operation: Run MTS software and hardware (load frames, load cells, fixtures) following test procedures and safety checklists.


• Test Setup & Rigging: Assist in developing and setting up test articles, rigs, fixtures, and instrumentation.


• Data & Technical Reporting: Collect test data, perform data reduction, analyze results, and prepare technical summary reports.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Associate Degree (AA) in a related discipline or equivalent hands‑on experience/training.


• Experience: 1+ years of experience in a testing, materials, or structural lab environment.


• Technical Skills: Mechanical aptitude, basic PC skills (Windows), and familiarity with structural test equipment.

Preferred Skills

• MTS Software: Hands‑on experience with MTS application programs (TWE, MPT, TW4, or MTS 793).


• CAD Tools: Basic knowledge of SolidWorks, CATIA, or similar 3D modeling programs.


• Data Tools: Proficiency in Excel, Python, or SQL for data analysis and reporting.
