Job summary

Textron Systems is seeking a Test Equipment Engineer II in Wilmington, MA to design, develop and document automated acceptance test equipment for new and existing electronics, and to help transition these systems to Production Test Engineering.

The role involves defining testing requirements from design docs, building modular test stations using PXI/LAN/USB, collaborating with product teams, and growing expertise in analog/digital circuits while producing clear documentation.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering with 2 years’ experience developing instrument driven test equipment.
• Strong written and verbal communications skills and ability to work in a team environment.
• Experience solving problems with solid troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and document automated acceptance test equipment for new and existing electronic products; assist with transition to Production Test Engineering.
• Develop testing requirements based on engineering design documentation and hardware.
• Develop functional test stations using PXI, LAN and USB for automated parametric measurements with modular, scalable design.
• Assist in determining measurement techniques, procuring instrumentation, and implementing test systems for verification.
• Interface with product development teams to determine test strategy and coverage for requirements.
• Grow in electrical engineering: analog/digital circuits, cable design, and debugging of assemblies.
• Author process, test and calibration procedures.
• Produce clear documentation for diverse audiences.

Primary responsibilities include:

• Design, develop and document automated acceptance test equipment required for new and existing electronic products and assist with transition of this equipment to Production Test Engineering

• Develop a set of testing requirements based on engineering design documentation and hardware

• Develop functional test stations utilizing state of the art PXI, LAN, USB in a context of automated parametric measurements, while maintaining a modular, flexible and scalable design approach

• Assist in determining measurement techniques, identifying and procuring instrumentation, and implementation of test systems to perform requirements verification

• Interface with product development teams to determine appropriate test strategy and coverage for functional requirements

• Grow in electrical engineering expertise as opportunities in analog and digital circuits, cable design, debugging of electrical assemblies are presented

• Author process, test and calibration procedures

• Produce clear, understandable documentation geared for all audiences

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering with 2 years’ experience developing instrument driven test equipment

• Experience programming with LabView or Python

• Experience in problem isolation with demonstrable troubleshooting skills

• Must have strong written and verbal communications skills and be able to work in a team-oriented environment

• An existing U.S. Security Clearance is desired. The ability to obtain one is required

$92,600 - $139,600 per year.
