Job summary

Cessna Aircraft Company is looking for a Test Equipment Engineer II in Wilmington, Massachusetts. This role involves designing and developing automated acceptance test equipment for electronic products, and interfacing with product development teams.

The successful candidate will hold a B.S. in Electrical Engineering with at least 2 years of experience. Strong programming skills in LabView or Python are highly desirable as well as troubleshooting skills. The position offers competitive pay and benefits, including medical and 401(K).

Qualifications

  • 2+ years’ experience developing instrument driven test equipment.
  • Experience programming with LabView or Python.
  • Experience in problem isolation with demonstrable troubleshooting skills.
  • Must have strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • An existing U.S. Security Clearance is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and document automated acceptance test equipment.
  • Develop testing requirements based on engineering design documentation.
  • Create functional test stations with PXI, LAN, USB.
  • Interface with product development teams for test strategy.
  • Grow expertise in electrical engineering as opportunities arise.

Primary responsibilities include:
  • Design, develop and document automated acceptance test equipment required for new and existing electronic products and assist with transition of this equipment to Production Test Engineering
  • Develop a set of testing requirements based on engineering design documentation and hardware
  • Develop functional test stations utilizing state of the art PXI, LAN, USB in a context of automated parametric measurements, while maintaining a modular, flexible and scalable design approach
  • Assist in determining measurement techniques, identifying and procuring instrumentation, and implementation of test systems to perform requirements verification
  • Interface with product development teams to determine appropriate test strategy and coverage for functional requirements
  • Grow in electrical engineering expertise as opportunities in analog and digital circuits, cable design, debugging of electrical assemblies are presented
  • Author process, test and calibration procedures
  • Produce clear, understandable documentation geared for all audiences
Qualifications
  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering with 2+ years’ experience developing instrument driven test equipment
  • Experience programming with LabView or Python
  • Experience in problem isolation with demonstrable troubleshooting skills
  • Must have strong written and verbal communications skills and be able to work in a team-oriented environment
