Job summary

Textron Systems is seeking a Test Engineer II/III to support a major US Air Force program. You will plan, coordinate, and execute component, subsystem, and system level tests in a multi-disciplinary team.

The role requires a mechanical or test engineering background, with 2 years' experience for Level II or 5 years for Level III, and the ability to travel up to 15%. Active Secret clearance preferred; strong communication and organizational skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering
• Experience in system-level and mechanical structure testing for defense or aerospace programs
• Familiarity with MIL-STD standards (MIL-STD 810 or SMC-S-016)
• Knowledge of electrical/mechanical test instrumentation is a plus
• Ability to obtain/maintain Government Security Clearance; Active Secret preferred
• Effective verbal and written communication and strong organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and schedule test and evaluation activities per customer/program requirements and engineering standards
• Prepare and review test plans, procedures, readiness reviews, and test reports for functional, environmental, and field tests
• Support data collection using accelerometers, strain gauges, high speed cameras, and other instrumentation
• Assist in product installation, integration, test, data acquisition, and analysis
• Perform preliminary quick-look analysis and provide post-test debriefs to engineering team and customers
• Coordinate with program, engineering, and external organizations during testing phases
• Communicate effectively and maintain good organizational skills
• Travel 10-15%

About This Role

We are seeking a talented test engineer with a Mechanical or Test Engineering background to support a major US Air Force Program. As a Test Engineer, you will perform planning, coordination, and execution of component, subsystem, and system level tests as well as other evaluation activities across the program. Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and schedule test and evaluation activities to ensure that test requirements and objectives are met per customer/program requirements and engineering and quality standards
• Prepare and/or review test plans, test procedures, test readiness reviews, and test reports for functional, environmental, and field tests
• Support in-house and field data collection activities including setup and operation of data acquisition systems, accelerometers, strain gauges, high speed cameras, and other test instrumentation
• Support test activities including product installation, integration, test, data acquisition, and analysis
• Perform preliminary “quick look” analysis and provide post-test debriefs to engineering team and customers
• Coordinate with appropriate program, engineering, and external organizations during test planning, execution, analysis, and reporting phases
• Must be able to communicate effectively (verbal and written) and have good organizational skills
• 10 - 15% Travel

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field with 2 years related experience (Level II).
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field with 5 years related experience (Level III).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience in system-level and mechanical structure testing for defense or aerospace programs
• Familiarity with MIL-STD standards (MIL-STD 810 or SMC-S-016)
• Knowledge and/or experience using electrical/mechanical test instrumentation is a plus

• This role is open at multiple levels. Candidates will be hired at a level consistent with their background and experience
• Level II: $92,600 - $139,600
• Level III: $115,800 - $176,200
