Job summary

Jabil is seeking an experienced Test Engineering Technician for our Richardson, TX plant. You will support the development and maintenance of test procedures, hardware, and software for electronic circuit production, collaborating with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure accurate, efficient testing.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with an Associate degree in Engineering preferred, and at least 3 years in a manufacturing/test environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist Test Engineers when commissioning new test equipment.
• Provide technical assistance to other technicians on shift.
• Support line test processes in manufacturing to ensure quality.
• Respond to machine down calls in a timely manner.
• Coordinate with manufacturing to determine repair priorities.
• Maintain adequate spares for allocated equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance at scheduled intervals.
• Escalate unresolved issues to Test Engineers.
• Instruct operators on proper use of test equipment.
• Prepare daily line issue reports; summarize downtime weekly/quarterly.
• Source spare parts cost-effectively.

Jabil is seeking an experienced Test Engineering Technician to work in our plant in Richardson, TX. How will you make an impact? As the experienced Test Engineering Technician at Jabil, you will support the development and maintenance of test procedures, hardware, and software for electronic circuit production. You will collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure efficient, accurate, and high-quality testing processes.

What will you do?

• Assists Test Engineers when commissioning new test equipment.
• Provides technical assistance to other technicians on the same shift.
• Provides line support to manufacturing for all test processes.
• Ensures "machine down" calls are responded to in a timely manner.
• Liaises with manufacturing to determine repair priorities.
• Ensures adequate spares are available for all allocated equipment.
• Ensures Preventative Maintenance is carried out at specified intervals on all allocated equipment.
• Liaises with manufacturing to ensure Preventative Maintenance does not impact production schedule.
• Escalates to Test Engineers for any unresolved/ongoing issues.
• Instructs operators on safe/effective use of test equipment.
• Provides daily report of all line issues.
• Provides weekly/quarterly downtime reports for allocated equipment.
• Sources spare parts from the most cost-effective supplier.
• May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

How will you get here?

Education & Experience: High school degree or equivalent is required, Associates Degree in Engineering is preferred. At least 3 years of experience working as a technician in a manufacturing environment.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to effectively present information or help prepare to present to groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Experience working and testing PCBA’s is required. Experience with Diagnostics, Rework/Repair or Failure Analysis is strongly preferred. Experience or knowledge with AOI and/or AXI or other similar background is strongly preferred. Experience or knowledge with In Circuit Testing (ICT) or functional testing is strongly preferred.
