Job summary

Advantage Technical is seeking a Test Engineering Manager in California to lead a team responsible for testing substation control house projects. You will manage testing schedules, coordinate with technicians, and ensure issues are promptly resolved while meeting budget and schedule requirements.

The role involves performing power testing on protective relay panels, MV switchgear, and related components, with a focus on safety and process adherence.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of related work experience.
• Experience leading or managing a team of technicians.
• AC/DC functional testing on protection relays, MV switchgear, MV breakers, and arc flash.
• Knowledge of NEC and IEEE safety codes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team responsible for testing substation control house projects, meeting budget and schedule.
• Monitor testing status and troubleshoot critical issues with test technicians.
• Ensure testing procedures and reports comply with project requirements.
• Review test plans and schematics before testing.
• Maintain and upload test reports and equipment lists.
• Drive quality improvements and enforce safety procedures.
• Keep work areas clean, safe, and organized.
• Perform testing of protective relays, switchgear, and related components.
