Job Summary

We are seeking a Controls Technician – Protection & Control (P&C) with 0–3 years of experience to support the installation, maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of protection and control systems used in power substations. This role is ideal for early‑career technicians looking to build hands‑on experience in electrical controls, automation, and substation protection systems.

The Controls Technician will apply electrical and computer‑based skills to ensure reliable operation of protection and control equipment, including microprocessor relays, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), sensors, motors, pumps, and associated systems.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, test, and troubleshoot protection and control relaying systems and associated devices
• Perform calibration and functional testing of protection and control relays and equipment
• Assist in developing, updating, and maintaining protection and control documentation
• Support assigned project leads with field activities and work assignments
• Install, program, configure, and maintain P&C relays and control devices
• Participate in process hazard analyses (PHA) and safety reviews
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and drawings
• Maintain awareness of current industry standards, tools, and best practices
• Follow safety, quality, and operational procedures in field environments

Required Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required)
• Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field (preferred)
• 0–3 years of experience as a Controls Technician or in a similar technical role
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications
