Job summary

Beta Eight is seeking a skilled Test Engineer for its manufacturing operations in the New York area. The role requires LabVIEW and C experience, plus the ability to develop test instructions and procedures for high-speed PCBA and related manufacturing processes.

You will work with geographically distributed teams, communicate effectively with various stakeholders, and adapt to periods of accelerated effort addressing critical shipment issues. Occasional travel to Taiwan/Vietnam is expected.

Qualifications

• Experience in telecom/Datacom field is strongly desired.
• 5+ years of experience working as a Test Engineer within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in C required (LabWindows/CVI a plus).
• LabVIEW experience required.
• Basic knowledge of networking infrastructure and protocols.
• Experience in developing test instructions and procedures.
• General knowledge of high speed PCBA and mechanical manufacturing processes.
• Experience collaborating as member of geographically distributed team and partners.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Motivated, team-oriented individual with strong problem-solving abilities.
• Open to a work-life balance which includes daytime and evening meetings plus various periods of accelerated effort addressing critical issues impacting shipments.
• Ability to support multiple projects through various test environments.
• Excellent troubleshooting/debug skills.
• Travel Requirements: Once a year to Taiwan or Vietnam, or possibly other countries.

Desired Skills

• Git/GitHub experience is a plus
• Familiarity with POTS and video/RF circuits a plus
• Functional experience working with a database (specifically MySQL )
• Experience with fiber optics cleaning, cabling, and transceiver product familiarity
• Familiarity with electrical, fiber optic, or RF test equipment.
  

Educational Requirements
