Job summary

Protingent Staffing has an exciting contract opportunity located in Centennial, CO for a Test Engineer III. The role focuses on system-level satellite testing, developing and executing test procedures, and supporting multiple satellite programs.

Qualified candidates have 5+ years in test engineering, familiarity with Python or C++, and LabVIEW; on-site work in Centennial is required with a rotating 1st–3rd shift schedule and occasional weekends.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of test engineering experience, preferably in satellite programs.
• Experience with system-level satellite testing; strong subsystem-level experience considered
• Knowledge of Python or C++, with ability to write/test scripts
• System-level troubleshooting and anomaly resolution experience
• LabVIEW experience and familiarity with test software tools
• Ability to work 100% onsite in Centennial, CO
• Shift rotation coverage including occasional weekends
• Preferred COSMOS/OpenC3 experience and network Architecture knowledge
• Experience supporting a satellite test program through to launch

Responsibilities

• Write, develop, and execute system-level satellite test procedures and scripts from readiness through execution
• Support initial vehicle power-on activities and full satellite test campaigns
• Troubleshoot and resolve anomalies, escalating as needed
• Test across satellite subsystems including electrical power, propulsion, thermal, GN&C, and data handling
• Develop and triage Python test scripts for test execution
• Use LabVIEW to support test operations
• Collaborate with a small test team across multiple satellite programs
• Support 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift rotations including occasional weekends

Position Description:

Protingent Staffing has an exciting contract opportunity located in Centennial, CO

Job Responsibilities:

• Write, develop, and execute system-level satellite test procedures and scripts, from test readiness through hands‑on execution
• Support initial vehicle power‑on activities and full satellite test campaigns
• Perform system-level troubleshooting and anomaly resolution, anticipating next steps in the test flow and escalating issues appropriately
• Support testing across satellite subsystems, including Electrical Power, Propulsion, Thermal, GN&C, and Data Handling
• Write and triage Python test scripts to support test execution
• Use LabVIEW and related tools to support test operations
• Collaborate with a small, experienced test team supporting multiple satellite programs
• Support 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift operations on a fair rotation, with occasional weekend work

Job Qualifications:

• 5+ years of test engineering experience; senior‑level candidates preferred
• Experience with system-level satellite testing (ground-only or aviation test experience alone is not sufficient); strong subsystem-level satellite test experience will also be considered
• Familiarity with Python (preferred), C++, or another object‑oriented language, with the ability to write and triage test scripts
• System-level troubleshooting and anomaly resolution experience
• Knowledge of Electrical, RF, GN&C, Propulsion, Thermal, or similar subsystems
• LabVIEW experience
• Ability to work 100% onsite in Centennial, CO
• Ability to support 1st (6:00am–2:00pm), 2nd (2:00pm–10:00pm), and 3rd shifts on a rotation
• Preferred: COSMOS / OpenC3 experience
• Preferred: Network architecture knowledge
• Preferred: Data Handling experience, including RS-422 and other bus protocols
• Preferred: Experience supporting a satellite test program through to launch

Job Details:

• Job Type: Contract

• Pay Rate Range: $60-84/hr
• Required US Citizen and Active TS/SCI clearance required.
