Job summary

COMSO, Inc. is seeking a qualified tester to support mission-critical federal government IT systems.

The role focuses on application and systems testing in Linux environments, ensuring compliance and quality across the software life cycle. The candidate will develop and execute test cases for COTS and vendor applications, troubleshoot defects, and collaborate with engineering and operations teams to implement effective corrective actions while meeting strict security and compliance standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management or related discipline is required.
• Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.

Responsibilities

• Perform application-level and systems testing in support of mission requirements.
• Execute functional testing of COTS and vendor-provided user client applications.
• Verify applications properly interface and operate with ITS components and meet established compliance requirements.
• Develop, execute, and document test cases, procedures, and results throughout the test life cycle.
• Identify, troubleshoot, document, and track defects and issues through resolution.
• Perform testing and troubleshooting in Linux environments using command-line tools as needed.
• Support compliance testing against defined technical, security, and operational requirements.
• Work with engineering and operations teams to investigate issues and validate corrective actions.
• Contribute to improving testing processes and test automation capabilities.
• Solid understanding of and hands-on experience with Linux environments.
• Experience performing application-level testing and troubleshooting.
