Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an engineer for test facilities design, operation, and maintenance at our Kent facilities. You will develop and execute test plans across cryogenic and fluid systems while leading operations and coordinating with internal customers.

The role combines hands-on facility work with project management, requiring problem-solving skills, safety discipline, and collaboration with integrated teams to support our spaceflight programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience designing, building, testing facilities or similar experimental setups.
  • Knowledge of fluids, cryogenic systems and monopropellants preferred.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex systems and work in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design, plan, fabricate, install and operate test facilities (hydrostatic, fluid flow, propellant, pneumatic, cryogenic).
  • Develop and execute test plans; perform data reduction and reviews.
  • Lead daily test operations and coordinate with internal customers.
  • Perform root cause analysis and safety reviews; plan maintenance.
  • Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors during installation.
  • Prepare status updates and communicate with stakeholders.

This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.In this role, you will support the development, construction, operation and maintenance of Blue Origin’s test facilities in Kent. This is a hands-on engineering and project management position for testing components and systems supporting all Blue Origin business units.Responsibilities will include:Design, plan, fabricate, install and operate hydrostatic, fluid flow, propellant, pneumatic, or cryogenic test facilitiesDevelop and execute test plans and procedures; perform subsequent data reduction and reviewsLead daily test operations, operate test consoles, direct technician work and coordinate with internal customersUnderstand and troubleshoot fluid and instrumentation systemsPerform root cause, system hazard analysis and failure investigationsPlan and oversee facility maintenanceIdentify opportunities for safety improvements and cost savingsDesign, define, procure and install system components and materials; manage vendors and subcontractors during installationProactively prepare status updates and communicates both within the organization and with direct customersDemonstrate high standards in test operations and work cooperatively with a team of Integration Engineers, Responsible Engineers and BLUE customers to ensure requirements are metWe are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight.
