Job summary

Vicor is seeking an entry-level Electrical Engineer to assist in designing, building, and supporting proprietary Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) hardware and software. You will develop test modules in USTA using C and Visual Basic across platforms, and work with embedded microcontrollers.

You will analyze instrumentation (GPIB, VXI, PXI, Serial) and document progress while collaborating with Design and Manufacturing Engineering to optimize tests and procedures.

Qualifications

  • B.S. Electrical Engineering degree.
  • 0–2 years of related co-op or internship experience.
  • Able to learn quickly and grasp technical concepts.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Solid understanding of analog, digital and power electronics.
  • Working knowledge of Windows XP/7 and embedded OS.
  • C++ and Visual Basic programming experience preferred.
  • Experience with databases (Oracle/SQL/ODBC) a plus.
  • Knowledge of power supply testing, analog/digital hardware and Altium.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build and support proprietary ATE hardware/software.
  • Develop test software modules for USTA on multiple platforms.
  • Analyze and select instrumentation components (GPIB, VXI, PXI, Serial).
  • Provide documentation throughout software/hardware development.
  • Collaborate with Design Engineering on new test procedures.
  • Support and optimize existing ATE with Manufacturing Engineering.
