Job summary

Pratt & Whitney is seeking engineering interns to support development engine assembly and testing across our Commercial, Military, and Industrial product lines. You will gain hands-on experience in engine systems understanding, instrumentation, and data validation.

You will learn to coordinate assembly plans, instrument requirements, and test coverage while contributing to discipline improvement and knowledge management.

Qualifications

  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or Engineering Science & Technology and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.

  • Support assembly plans and coordination, instrumentation requirements coordination, assembly procedure development & methods, on-site and test coverage, test data management and validation.

  • Work with assembly support teams to support engine builds and tests. Off-shift and weekend work may occur to gain test coverage experience.

What You Will Do:


  • Provide engineering support for development engine assembly and test across the P&W product lines (Commercial, Military, and Industrial), while focusing on engine systems functional understanding, learning and validation through both analytical tools and data acquisition from testing.

  • Support assembly plans and coordination, instrumentation requirements coordination, assembly procedure development & methods, on-site and test coverage, test data management and validation.

  • Active participation in discipline improvement activities and knowledge management.

  • Work with assembly support teams to support engine builds and tests. Off-shift and weekend work may occur to gain test coverage experience.


What You Will Learn:


  • Develop an understanding of how aircraft engines operate as a system and how they are validated for use in the commercial and military applications

  • Develop an initial understanding of the engine system, including assembly and test

  • Build system level knowledge of engine assembly, instrumentation installation and overall jet engine function.


Qualifications you must have:


  • Must be pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or Engineering Science & Technology and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.


This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
