Job summary

Wolfspeed, Inc. in Marcy, NY is seeking a Test Engineer to design, develop, and implement cost‑effective test methods and equipment for all phases of new product development and manufacturing.

You will create test programs, plan testing, collaborate with OSATs and vendors, and enable mass‑production testing while analyzing data to improve performance and cost‑to‑market.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
• 2–5 years of relevant experience in test engineering.
• Experience with test development, characterization, data‑sheet testing, and bench equipment.
• Familiarity with SQL, C#, Python, and other coding languages.

Responsibilities

• Create test programs, design test fixtures and equipment, and generate specifications and procedures.
• Plan the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing and validation of new products.
• Work closely with business units, vendors, and OSATs to transfer new products to production.
• Enable manufacturing of new products, analyze data, and improve test processes.
• Research, design, develop, and implement test methods across product development cycles.
• Install, operate, and support new testing equipment and processes.
• Engage in cross‑functional groups to evaluate products and validate design changes.
• Organize and analyze test data across functional and qualification phases.
• Ensure mass‑production testing aligns with goals and best practices.

Test Engineer

Wolfspeed is seeking a Test Engineer to design, develop, and implement cost‑effective test methods and equipment for all phases of new product development and manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Create test programs, design test fixtures and equipment, and generate specifications and procedures.
• Plan the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing and validation of new products.
• Work closely with business units, vendors, and OSATs to develop and enable the transfer of new products to production.
• Enable manufacturing of new products, communicate with cross‑functional teams to solve problems related to new process development and analyze data related to power electronics testing.
• Research, design, develop, and implement test methods during functional, validation, and qualification phases of the new product development cycle to evaluate performance.
• Aid in installation, implementation, and operation of new equipment, processes, and procedures to support expanding test needs, meeting objectives relative to quality, cost, and time‑to‑market.
• Engage in highly collaborative cross‑functional working groups to evaluate new products and validate design changes to existing products.
• Organize and analyze test and characterization data collected during functional, validation, and qualification phases of the product development cycle.
• Work closely with the Operations team to ensure mass‑production testing aligns with goals and best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent with 2‑5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with test development, characterization, data‑sheet performance testing, bench test equipment, ATE testers and handlers, hardware development, software development, and statistical data analysis.
• Highly organized, detail oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects and use critical thinking to make sound decisions.
• Experience with SQL, C#, Python, and other coding languages.

Location

Marcy, NY – Onsite, 5 days per week.

Compensation

$81,000.00 – $111,000.00.
