This role will focus on test planning, project coordination, test execution, data acquisition, vibration analysis, and interpretation of engineering/simulation reports. The engineer will work closely with design, simulation, technicians, and other engineering teams to develop validation plans, coordinate testing activities, analyze results, and communicate technical conclusions. The position is primarily onsite with up to 25% domestic travel, primarily to engineering, testing, and proving-ground facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, coordinate, and manage validation test plans for engine components and systems.
  • Work with design and engineering teams to translate testing requests into appropriate test strategies and procedures.
  • Plan and coordinate testing activities involving multiple engineering groups, technicians, suppliers, and other project partners.
  • Conduct and support engine, machinery, bench, and laboratory testing.
  • Perform vibration and structural dynamics testing, including FFT/frequency analysis, modal testing, and NVH-related testing.
  • Set up test instrumentation, data acquisition equipment, sensors, and gaging as required.
  • Utilize data acquisition systems to collect and record test data.
  • Analyze test data related to vibration, stress, strain, and structural behavior.
  • Review and interpret simulation reports to support test planning and validation activities; simulation development is not the primary responsibility.
  • Evaluate test results and help identify potential structural failure modes or product issues.
  • Coordinate prototype hardware procurement and test setup activities.
